Author Biography- Tim O'Brien , was born in 1956, in Minnesota. Worthington is where he lived, which was a big setting in some of his stories, like The Things They Carried. In 1968, when he graduated college, he was drafted to the army for Vietnam. he served from 1969-1970. He was in the Americal Division, whom was involved with the My Lai Massacre. Upon completing his tour in 1970 he went on to graduate school, and soon to pursue his career in writing.
